My favorite post-workout recipes

I may not always get my bananas into the blender on the first toss, but trust me, my post-workout meals never fail to hit the spot!

It's so important to eat within 1–2 hours of training to give your body all the nutrients it needs to maximize recovery and muscle growth. If you don't refuel properly, you won't see the best results from your training, and you will run the risk of overtraining and injury.

You know I don't like to complicate things – I'm all about quick, easy, tasty and nutrition-packed meals that get the job done. So I've lined up 7 of my favorite breakfast and dinner recipes to help you max your gains after a hard workout.

Spicy Sausage Omelette with Mushrooms & Greens

If you have seen me at work in the kitchen, you know I have broken a few eggs in my time. That may or may not be why I love a good omelette. Bang this beauty out for brunch after a big weekend workout, or as a no-stress weeknight dinner.

Spicy Moroccan Chicken Bowl 3/7

I'm going to let you in on my no-fail system: make it easier for yourself to eat well by cooking extra for dinner so that you can eat leftovers for lunch the next day. It's that simple. And this spicy bowl is the perfect dish for it.

Protein Powerhouse Parfait 4/7

Ponzu Beef Stir-fry 5/7

What's my chef style? I'm glad you asked. My answer: get it in there! Just toss it, slide it, throw it and get it in there. That's it. And stir-fries are the classic 'get it in there' dish. This super-quick recipe comes with extra special Japanese ponzu sauce.

Chocolate Nut & Seed Protein Oats with Caramelized Banana 6/7

You can't say I'm not serving you up variety – this breakfast has both nuts AND seeds. Fancy! Plus caramelized banana, which you won't understand why you haven't tried before now.

Spelt Spaghetti with Seafood 7/7

Spelt Spaghetti with Seafood

In Australia we call this "spaghetti marinara". And I love it! Low-fat, high-protein seafood. Spelt pasta serving up carbs. Ready in 20 minutes. It has every post-workout base covered.
