When anxiety strikes: Alexz’s top 5 meditations - Centr

I have anxiety. If you've experienced it too you'll recognize that heavy feeling in your chest, that shallow breath. It sucks. But the thing I lean on to keep it under control is meditation.

Even if you haven't been there, I bet you've been overwhelmed or unmotivated. Meditation can help with that too!

There are SO many different ways to meditate. Saying that it's not for you is like saying you don’t like chocolate – you just need to find your flavor. I meditate every day in the car, when I train... Yep, during those squat pulses I am letting those chaotic thoughts loose and breathing through them.

Learn to Meditate 3: Breathing 4/5

Learn to Meditate 3: Breathing

Like most anxiety sufferers, I hold tension in my chest. Meditation has taught me the power of deep breathing and how it can allow your muscles to relax. If you're new to this whole world, Chris's Learn to Meditate series is the perfect place to start. And who wouldn't be relaxed by that voice?!

Meditation: You Are in Control 5/5

Meditation: You Are in Control

My queen Tahl is back to show anxiety the door. Sometimes I am so busy, it is only when I can no longer take a deep breath that I realize I need to slow down and let my body process. I have learned to be more aware and take action before it gets to that point, but that is my big flashing sign that I need to stop, meditate and re-center.
