New feature: take control of your data usage - Centr

Workout wearing out your data? Gym a black hole for reception? Wifi a no-go? The new low data feature on Centr is the savior you’ve been waiting for!

How do I save data?
With a simple toggle to ‘Low data mode’ in your workout settings on iOS and Android you can now save data consumption or improve video streaming when you’re in an area with poor network conditions (like the back of the gym).

We’ve started with the option of lower video resolution on workouts, but you’ll soon be able to save data when viewing recipes and listening to meditations, too.

How you take control of your data will depend on the type of workout you’re doing.

When you open a Coached Workout video:

  • Look for the mixer icon (the three lines with sliders) and give it a tap to open video settings.
  • Toggle ‘Low data mode’ to ON.
  • You will remain in data saving mode until the workout is complete.

When you start a Self-Guided Workout:

  • Tap the kebab (3 dots) icon at the top right of the screen to open workout settings.
  • Toggle ‘Low data mode’ to ON.
  • You will remain in data saving mode until the workout is complete.

The app will default to the best possible video resolution, so you can update this setting any time you open a new workout. (We’ll continue to upgrade the feature so you can make ‘Low data mode’ the default option on your app in the future.)

Take control of your data and the only thing you’ll be powering through in your next Centr workout is sit thrus!
