5 tips to make it over the Centr 6 halfway hump - Centr

Legendary effort – you’ve made it to halfway through Centr 6! Sticking with a fitness program takes real commitment. But at this midway point you may also be feeling daunted by the final stretch... or just plain tired of it all.

You might have started out full of energy and excitement, smashed out a Bonus workout on top of Centr 6 and prepped your meals with precision, but now? You just want to sleep in and skip the exercise.

Rather than beating yourself up about it, remember we all need a little help sometimes to stay on track. Luke has a message to help you dig deep – and we’re backing him up with 5 tips to help you regain momentum and hit Centr 6 out of the park!

1. Count the reasons
The first step is to figure out how you’re really feeling. Maybe you’re disheartened because you’re not seeing the results you expected, or you’ve had some setbacks, or you just feel exhausted. Whatever the reason, if you feel like giving up, you should revisit your goals and remind yourself why you’re doing this. Can you still reach that goal if you give up now? Chances are the answer is no. Getting back some perspective will help you recover your motivation. Just think about how great it will feel when you’ve achieved your goals and re-commit.

2. Remix your 6
As a streamlined, short-term workout program designed to make tracking your progress easy, Centr 6 is built around consistency and repetition. However, if the exercises are starting to feel a little ‘same old same old’, you may be surprised to find how much difference even a small shake up in your routine can make. If you’ve been doing your workouts out in the afternoon, try tackling them first thing in the morning – optimizing your energy levels at different times of day can be a challenge. Have you been focused on getting faster? Work on perfect technique this coming week instead (this can also improve your results). Maybe your current playlist isn’t working for you. Find a fresh sound in one of our Centr playlists.

Rope in a friend – not only will you have more fun, but you’ll also push each other to train harder.

3. Go for gold
Luke, Ashley, Rulk, and Chris have been recognizing your hard work with a reward when you complete your 6 workouts each week – but that doesn’t mean you can’t reward yourself, too! Can you now do Rulk’s pulses at the Advanced level? Treat yourself to that movie you’ve been wanting to see. Increased your weights? That’s a well-earned massage right there. Set rewards for the rest of the journey that you can enjoy once you’ve hit all your targets for each week.

4. Get those endorphins
How many times have you heard your fellow Legends say they didn’t want to work out, but did it anyway – then smashed it? The endorphin rush is real and it feels amazing. But it’s easy to forget the good times when you’re staring down those burpees and your muscles are still whimpering from yesterday. If you need an extra push, try telling yourself, ‘I’ll just do the warm-up’. Once your body is all warmed up, it will feel silly to cut the workout short… then the endorphins will start popping. Just remember how great it feels, take a deep breath and dive in. You won’t regret it.

5. Subtract the excuses
Really examine the reasons you’re giving yourself for your efforts slipping and motivation lagging and try to find solutions. Do you really not have time for a quick workout? Can you adapt today’s workout to be all bodyweight if you don’t have dumbbells? Are you actually too tired to exercise, or can you power through another set?Of course, if you really are over-fatigued, that’s important to recognize – we don’t want you to hurt yourself. That’s why it’s important to figure out whether you’re actually at risk or just making excuses. If they are just excuses, the good news is you can address them and take back control.
