Bored? Stressed? Hyped? 5 workouts to suit your mood

Not in the mood to work out? There’s no such thing when you train with Centr. Our team of expert trainers have a workout to suit every state of mind – from ‘all over the place’ to ‘all in!’

A workout is also the ultimate mood-changer – a more constructive use of your time than sitting around grumbling or worrying.

“Your body wants to move, even if you don’t want to,” says Centr expert Tiffiny Hall. “Once you get started, you’ll start feeling it – those endorphins will kick in and you’ll be loving it. You'll be burning calories, toning up, having fun and learning skills."

So, what are you in the mood for? Let’s find your perfect fit.

1. Smack down your stress with Jorge

1/5

Is work really grinding your gears? Chores piling up? Had a week of travel delays and canceled plans? Attack your stress head-on. We won’t ask what (or who) you’re visualizing as you hook, jab and cross with Jorge Blanco’s new MMA moves, but we’re sure you’ll feel much better about it all by the time you reach the cool-down. Just get your gloves on, pound out the problems and give frustration a flying kick. When it comes to an ‘active catharsis’, there’s no substitute.

2. Blast through boredom with Da Rulk's power

2/5

Even your favourite exercises can get a bit ho hum when you’ve got them on repeat. If you’ve had enough treadmill to last a lifetime, it’s time to try something completely new, unique and ‘raw’. Da Rulk’s Raw Functional Training will have you moving in ways you never imagined while building strength and mobility. Boredom is impossible when you’re crawling on all fours, crouching like a gorilla, and bouncing, pulling and twisting every which way. Your body won’t know what hit it.

3. Burn off excess energy with Michael's cardio

3/5

If there’s electricity bursting through your veins like a five-year-old at a birthday party, a regular gym session just won’t cut it. You need something dynamic and high-intensity to engage every muscle group, right down to the core. Now is the time to jump, strike and smash some fitness goals with the champ Michael Olajide Jr’s brand new boxing workouts. Might as well expend your extra energy on something with serious cardio benefits. Trust us: this is what jump ropes were made for.

4. Combat a confidence dip with Bobby's bonus smash

4/5

Whether you’re psyching yourself up for a work presentation, fighting the jitters before a first date or you just need that extra ‘oomph!’, smashing a special challenge will make you feel unstoppable. Kick your confidence into high gear with a bonus Bobby Holland Hanton workout. If you can keep up with stuntman Bobby, you’re doing pretty well. Go the extra mile and push through each set of reps to show yourself what you’re capable of. Be amazing.

5. Re-align your mind with a Tahl tune-up

5/5

Whether it’s anxiety or an inability to focus, yoga can bring your mind, body and breath into alignment. More than simply sitting down and ‘om’-ing, Tahl Rinsky’s Dynamic Vinyasa Yoga will bring you back into an awareness of your body and thoughts. By focusing on perfect control of your poses, you can center yourself and prepare for whatever the day brings.
